About VertexApks

A ranked view of Android software, where position is the point rather than an afterthought.

Why everything carries a number

A grid of icons tells you nothing about which one is worth your storage. VertexApks attaches a measurement to every entry and then sorts by it, so the shape of a category is visible before you open anything. The gap between first and tenth is often the most useful thing on the page.

What sets the order

Rating and the weight of ratings behind it, nothing else. No entry climbs because of a payment, and the table is rebuilt from the same inputs every time, so two people looking on the same day see the same standing.

Built ahead of time

Every page here is flat HTML generated before you arrive. There is no framework booting up, no layout shifting while scores load in. The ranking is already on the page when it reaches you.

Spotted something out of place?

If an app is sitting somewhere it does not belong, or is not on the scale at all, the contact form goes straight to the people who maintain the table.

What never gets a position

Repackaged installers, cracked premium unlocks, and anything wearing a publisher name that is not its own. Those do not get ranked low, they do not get ranked at all.

Who keeps the table

VertexApks is maintained by a small group who got tired of app lists where the order was decided by advertising budget and never explained.

Categories get re-measured as ratings move. Entries whose publishers walk away come off the scale rather than sitting near the top on a number from two years ago.

A list without an ordering principle is just a pile with better spacing.
